Needs Volvo name facing out and the right way up. With Volvo name upside down, won't work.

I assume you're talking about the Key Card there - but orientation shouldn't matter.

The Key Tag is left in the pocket.

Just a thought. The key fob battery may be at least 1 year old.
Just tested the CR2450 cell in the fob 2.8 volts [not 3 volts]

My current car will not function on a key fob battery less than 2.9 so changed every year.

They usually come with over 3 volts.

SO just order 2 energizer for £3.75 ebay ecpry 2029.

Gloucester. I am talking about using the key TAG to open the car, not the key CARD. When the key TAG is touched against the door pillar, the Volvo name must be the right way up. I would have expected the NFC to work either way round.

Tap the car icon which will bring up “quick controls” “car status” and “settings”

Go to Settings > Controls > Locking (tap view all) > then under approaching and leaving you’ll see proximity lock.

New cell fitted 3.4v no difference.

In the manual it states if not used for days.

Basically read 'for HOURS'
So its working then.

I have this annoying problem too. It always seems to happen the first time you try - yanking the handle and having to wait 20 seconds for the door to open.

After this, it always works fine for locking/unlocking.

I have contacted local dealer and they have done a software update (over an hour) but still its happening.

I have also replaced the battery and its still intermittent - very frustrating!!!
