Re: UK VED car tax - EX30 Ultra dual motor

I did mine on 1st March, due 1st May 2025 so got an extra 10 months VED at £0. Fully expected the site to be slow or unavailable but all went through smoothly and quickly, email acknowledgement received within minutes. I would definitely recommend anyone with an EV to renew their VED this month even...

Re: Creaking window trim

I have just noticed this as well (started a week ago). We have been getting some very cold weather recently or it might be traffic film. I sprayed some silicone lubricant onto a paper towel and wiped the groove that the glass sits in when closed. Seems to have done the trick.

I did notice this but have never seen the green bar extend down that far…

Re: SELECTING REVERSE - CAR REVERSES QUICKLY

I have become used to this feature of the EX30 now. I just control reversing using the brake pedal and don’t need to touch the accelerator at all. Also, the occasional times I move forward without the seat belt engaged, once I realised OPD is not active in this situation (caught me out initially). I...

Re: EX30 vs Mini Cooper SE

The heated steering wheel comes automatically on every cold morning when I get in the car. I would rather be able to turn on when I want like the heated seats. The automatic function can be switched off in the settings. The auto heated steering wheel in the Volvo comes on if the temperature is belo...

Re: Electric Drive Warning

I had it happen to me this week parked on a slight incline, currently on 1.4.2
It disappeared when putting the car into reverse and nothing showed up on the car status page (all good).

Re: It wants a password every time I get in…

Do you mean a password or a PIN? When I collected my car I set up a PIN that had to be entered each time I used the car. This got tedious very quickly so I switched it off. I think the onboard YouTube app also required a PIN (presumably for age restricted content). I don’t recall ever having to use ...

If I remember correctly, this is not enabled by default and needs to be switched on. Once enabled it will remember this setting unless changed by the user.

Re: EX30 vs Mini Cooper SE

So sorry you are having these problems. My EX30 unlocks reliably using the ‘approach to open’ setting. I keep my key in a Faraday box so it is not in continuous communication with the car and also helping to prolong the fob battery life. I find I can turn off all the driver aids I need to from the ‘...

EX30 vs Mini Cooper SE

Having recently become a 2 EV household with the acquisition of a Mini Cooper SE I thought I might compare and contrast with the Volvo EX30. Originally my other half was looking to get the Aceman but after much deliberation there didn’t seem to be much point in having 2 medium sized crossovers so th...
